$60 Million in Fair Pay - and Counting.

Constant Control is proud to confirm the successful delivery of Holidays Act remediation payments to MidCentral health workers, with over $30 million paid to staff today.

This is the largest single-district remediation payment Constant Control has supported to date, and it takes our combined delivery across Health New Zealand districts to approximately $60 million in Holidays Act remediation payments.

That figure reflects multiple payment cycles across Hawke’s Bay, South Canterbury, and now MidCentral, covering both payroll rectification and remediation payments to current employees across each district. These are not abstract compliance figures. They represent real money owed to real people, and getting it right matters.

Senior-Led Delivery That Makes the Difference

The MidCentral remediation was led by Constant Control’s Delivery Lead, Melanie Staples, who also managed the successful Hawke’s Bay programme that delivered over $24 million across two payment cycles to thousands of health workers.

Melanie brought the same discipline, rigour, and assurance-led approach that had proven so effective in Hawke’s Bay, rapidly restoring confidence across the project and re-establishing a clear trajectory toward payment. Her approach centred on structured delivery oversight, embedding robust quality assurance at every stage, ensuring that payroll rectification and remediation modelling were validated before a single dollar was paid. The result speaks for itself: over $30 million delivered accurately, compliantly, and on schedule.

This is what senior-led delivery looks like. Not advice from the sidelines, but hands-on project management that takes accountability for outcomes and gets people paid.

A Growing Track Record in Holidays Act Compliance

The MidCentral payment continues a pattern of consistent, high-quality delivery across Health New Zealand’s Holidays Act remediation programme. Constant Control was involved in delivering the second and third districts to complete remediation nationally, and has since supported multiple payment cycles across each engagement.

Every engagement has involved the full scope of remediation delivery: payroll system rectification to establish ongoing compliance, remediation modelling and quantification to determine what is owed, assurance frameworks to validate accuracy, and the coordination of payment execution across payroll, HR, finance, and union stakeholders.

By the Numbers

  • Hawke’s Bay: Over $24.6 million delivered across two payment cycles to more than 4,000 staff.

  • South Canterbury: Approximately $4-5 million delivered across two payment cycles.

  • MidCentral: Over $30 million delivered today.

  • Combined total: Approximately $60 million in Holidays Act remediation payments across three Health New Zealand districts.

Constant Control continues to support Holidays Act remediation across multiple Health New Zealand districts, including upcoming former employee payments.

Delivery, Not Theatre

Holidays Act remediation is complex, high-stakes work. It touches every part of an organisation’s payroll and HR function, carries significant financial and reputational risk, and demands absolute precision. It is not work that can be delivered through advisory reports or arms-length oversight.

Constant Control exists to do the work, not describe it. We embed with our clients, take accountability for delivery, and stay until the job is done. With approximately $60 million in remediation payments now delivered across three Health New Zealand districts, and further programmes underway, we continue to set the standard for Holidays Act compliance delivery in New Zealand.
